We employ essential oils for their powerful benefits toward healthy skin and, as a bonus, adore the subtle, natural fragrances they provide. By contrast, a single synthetic (artificial) fragrance may contain a cocktail of up to 200 chemicals! Synthetics are used in the vast majority of products because they are much less expensive to formulate; pure, natural ingredients cost more than synthetics, which is then reflected in the price of a product. Truly high quality, natural products may cost a bit more, but a little application goes a longer way in terms of effectiveness.

I have sensitive skin. Can I safely use Soulstice Spa products?
You sure can! Our formulations are designed with sensitive skin in mind, tested and approved by dermatologists, and contain none of the usual, commonly used offenders. We avoid mineral oil, sulfates, harsh preservatives, and comedogenic ingredients whenever possible.

The fresh, subtle scents contained in many Soulstice Spa products are derived from natural essential oils. If you have sensitive skin we do recommend doing a small patch test prior to use, as some people have a sensitivity to particular essential oils.

Are your products cruelty-free?
Always. We never use animal testing for any of our formulations.

What are DBP, formaldehyde and toluene? Why should I avoid them?
DBP (dibutyl phthalate) has shown strong evidence of neurotoxicity and linked with reproductive impairment. It is banned for use in cosmetics in the EU. Formaldehyde is a preservative that has been linked to cancer and developmental disorders; it is occasionally found in nail polish treatments and hardeners. A probable carcinogen and neurotoxin, toluene (benzene) is a commonly found solvent in many nail polish and nail polish treatments.
